Whitney H.

With over 15 years of experience as a caregiver, Whitney brings a lot of wisdom to the families she serves. While caring for her own father who had Alzheimer’s, Whitney was a proactive learner and became an expert in dementia care. Now, she brings that expertise to Wellhaven clients, with the unique ability to anticipate needs and communicate effectively.

“Toni” has been a Certified Nursing Assistant for 32 years. Her sharp skills help her provide high-quality care to her current client, whom she’s been serving for over 10 years! Toni is the embodiment of the Wellhaven value of dependable care.

Danielle A. – For 6 years, Danielle has been faithfully serving Wellhaven clients. Gentle, patient, and kind – these are characteristics others attribute to her as she provides care. Danielle leaves a positive impression with everyone she encounters.

About - Ryan Thompson

Ryan Thompson

Owner & CEO

Ryan has lived on the coast of South Carolina for most of his adult life. Having spent 20 years in leadership roles in various churches, he brought his desire to lead a team in helping others to Wellhaven in 2017. Ryan and his wife have 7 kids who love to travel and surf together.

Melissa Busby

Director of Community Relations

Melissa is a lifelong resident of the Midlands, and came to Wellhaven in 2021 from a background in ministry with children and families. The ability to bless seniors drives her daily work, and she loves connecting families with local resources. You can often find Melissa visiting senior communities with her pet rabbit, Taco.

La'Reece Edmonds

Director of Operations

La’Reece is a native of Asheville, NC, but now calls Columbia, SC home. As a Licensed Practical Nurse with a degree in Psychology, La’Reece has worked in healthcare for 13 years, emphasizing geriatric and special needs services. Caring for people has always been her purpose, and being on the Wellhaven team for the past 7 years has allowed her to pursue her passion for equipping caregivers.

About - Kristin Akins

Kristin Akins

Director of Operations

Kristin, a Licensed Practical Nurse for almost 20 years, found her passion working with the geriatric population. She came to the Wellhaven team in 2023, having led other home care organizations since 2009. Originally from Charleston, she now enjoys her two grown sons and loves gardening, kayaking, and being outdoors.

About - Tabatha Brunson

Tabatha Brunson

Care Coordinator

Tabatha has lived in the Summerville, SC area off and on since the age of 5. Before becoming a full-time caregiver, she served primarily in daycares. Tabatha came to Wellhaven in 2022 as a caregiver, but has more recently blossomed in her role as Care Coordinator. She lives with her husband and 2 dogs, Lily and Raven.

About - Karen Nichols

Karen Nichols

Director of Program Development

Karen is a native South Carolinian. She has spent 25 years dedicated to serving seniors, their families, and the professionals who care for them as Registered Nurse and an Administrator. Karen is well known for her education and advocacy for person-centered care and people with dementia. She loves to spend time traveling, sitting by the water, and reading voraciously.

About - Andrea Lowder

Andrea Lowder

Administrator

Andrea, a native South Carolinian, has been working in staffing and administration for over 20 years. Since 2020, she’s brought attention to detail and order to help Wellhaven continue to grow and succeed. She and Jon and their three children are excited about home renovations and being part of the Charleston community!

About - Michelle Dauberman

Michelle Dauberman

Care Coordinator

Michelle came to Wellhaven in 2023 with 15 years of home health experience and a vast background in customer service and management. Having served as a dynamite caregiver, she now supports the staff as a Care Coordinator. Michelle is the mother of four and grandmother to five, but is really owned by two fur babies who enjoy beach walks and hiking.

About - Isabella DiGregorio

Isabella DiGregorio

Executive Assistant

Isabella has lived in Florida for 14 years, and has served as an Executive Assistant for 12. She joined Wellhaven in early 2023 to provide assistance and peace of mind to the growing team in any way possible. In her free time, you’ll find her reading, kayaking, or relaxing at home with her two cats.
